Abstract

The system is used for determining the presence of water leaks in a heat engine. The engine has cooling liquid circulating through several tubes. By injecting air at a pressure of five or six bars, into the tubes of circulating cooling liquid, any leaks at the rubber-sealed orifices in the tubes may be seen by the escape of air bubbles into the tank. The rubber sealing may be depressed by the use of a rotating metallic bobbin (13) moving between adjacent pairs of vertical tubes. The test can be completed in one complete 360 deg. rotation of the cooling tubes.
