Abstract
The panel is formed by a rigid frame in which a metal sheet is fitted and is coated with a layer of pitch. A second and perforated sheet of metal is then fixed on the frame and the cavity between is filled with glass or rock wool. The perforated plate has a pierced area of ca. 48% and is lined with a film of plastic material. The operators of extremely noisy machines such as corrugated board machines are protected against continuous exposure to the noise by a housing assembled from the sound insulating panels. The housing also serves reduces of humidity and dust.
