Abstract

The small metal trunk has a lid which rests on a peripheral exterior flange (18) which also strengthens the trunk. The flange is formed by folding over the top (20) of the sides of the trunk (15) which is bent at right angles to form it. The top is then bent over (19) so that it lies flat against the side and covers and seals the groove formed by the back of the flange to form a closed space. The edge of it is soldered to the upper part of the trunk at spots (21) underneath the flange.
