Abstract

The solar energy collector has an inclined surface on which obstacles ar arranged in a regular pattern to direct in a zigzag path water delivered to the upper edge of the surface and flowing down for collection at the lower edge. The walls (R) of the obstacles (H) are reflective, and form channels through which the waer flows. The depth of the channels is more than five times their width. The obstacles may be thin blades, of transparent or metallised plastics, or of heat conductive material. As a further alternative, the obstacles may be formed by the fibres of a cloth, arranged in a pattern forming water flow passages. A transparent cover (F) may also be mounted above and close to the top ends of the obstacles.
