Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve a heat collection efficiency and strength and to facilitate a maintenance, by a method wherein a heat collector, incorporating a heat collecting medium, is located near a focus of a liquid Fresnel lens which is supported fixddly or so that it can trace the sun.
CONSTITUTION: A heat collector 3, incorporating a heat collecting medium, is placed near a focus of a liquid Fresnel lens 1 which is supported fixedly or so that it can trace the sun. The liquid Fresnel lens 1 is contstituted such that a hollow Fresnel lens external wall 13 is made from clear plastic resin, such as polystyrene and the like, and an internal hollow portion 14 is filled with liquid. A refractive index is varied by changing a type of liquid wherewith the portion 14 is filled, and thereby a focus distance is varied. In this structure, a heat collection efficiency is improved substantially in such a manner as enables the lens to be constantly and automatically positioned facing and opposite to the sun through the working of the heat collecting medium, such as water and the like, in the heat collector 3 through the working of a revolving mechanism operated manually or by means of a motor. Especially, the adoption of the liquid Fresnel lens permits the use of a large lens, which measures 1W10m2 in area, and the lens is also suitable for use in the production of electric power.
