Abstract

The special tool to modify a tyre chain has two forks (12, 13). One has a movable jaw (14) to keep solid a part (15) of a bar tool. a screw (16) pressing on the jaw, gives the locking action. The second fork (12) pushes the link (17) around the bar tool under the action of a second screw (18). the bar tool can be specially shaped to mate with the links on either side of the one being worked on. the plastics cross ties are forced into the link using the tool.
