Abstract

La présente invention concerne un élément de couplage de fibres optiques. Dans cet élément de couplage de fibres optiques, une courte longueur de fibre optique 16 est placée dans un manchon de verre 12. Le manchon est écrasé par fusion sur la fibre et un palier d'horlogerie ou rubis 18 est monté de façon ajustée sur l'extrémité en saillie de la fibre. L'autre extrémité du manchon est évasée pour faciliter l'insertion d'une seconde fibre 34. Le manchon et le rubis sont scellés dans une extrémité d'une bague 22. Application au couplage in situ de fibres optiques.
