Abstract

L'invention concerne un procédé pour joindre des tuyaux en acier enrobés de grand diamètre. On pose les deux tuyaux 1, 1' bout à bout dans une tranchée puis on applique successivement autour du joint une plaque de soutien métallique 3 (facultative), une couche 4 de matière d'isolation thermique, une couche 5 de matière résistant à la corrosion thermofusible et thermoadhésive puis une plaque de serrage 6. On soude ensuite les tuyaux de l'intérieur ce qui fait fondre la couche 5 qui, de ce fait, adhère aux extrémités nues 2a, 2a' des tubes et se fusionne aux extrémités 2, 2' de l'enrobage. L'invention évite la nécessité de former une grande excavation autour du joint et permet le rebouchage rapide de la tranchée.
