Abstract

Structure accélératrice pour un accélérateur linéaire de particules fonctionnant en régime d'ondes progressives, ou en régime d'ondes stationnaires. La structure accélératrice comprend au moins une section accélératrice et une section complémentaire de groupement ou de préaccélération constituée une cavité C résonnante, du type << rhumbatron >>, couplée magnétiquement à la première cavité A1 de la section accélératrice au moyen d'un iris IC de couplage, la cavité C ayant une longueur L = (2m + 1) lambda 0 /4 et la distance D séparant les espaces d'interaction des cavités C et A1 étant égale à D = (2k + n/2 + alpha ) pi beta lambda 0 , avec 0 <= alpha <= 1/4, n et k étant des nombres entiers, beta étant la vitesse réduite v/c des particules et lambda 0 étant la longueur d'onde de fonctionnement de l'accélérateur. Application: accélérateurs linéaires fonctionnant en bandes C ou X.
