Abstract
L'accélérateur 1 comporte deux sous-ensembles imbriqués comportant chacun plusieurs cavités accélératrices 11 à 21 disposées le long du trajet 8 du faisceau de particules et comportant des cavités latérales de couplage 21A à 29 pour coupler entre elles électromagnétiquement ces cavités accélératrices. Une onde stationnaire électromagnétique haute fréquence est entretenue par un coupleur d'entrée 9 dans chaque sous-ensemble, l'onde de chaque sous-ensemble étant avec l'onde de l'autre dans un rapport de phase tel que le faisceau de particules est l'objet d'un gain d'energie maximal sur tout son trajet dans l'accelérateur. Le coupleur 9 est constitué par une jonction hybride de guide d'ondes comportant deux parties de guide d'ondes 105, 106 séparées par une paroi commune 114 à encoches et raccordées respectivement à une cavité du premier et à une cavité du second sous-ensemble pour les exciter individuellement.
