Abstract

L'invention concerne un système électro-optique pour jauger une dimension latérale d'une barre en déplacement. Selon l'invention un moyen de mesure comprend une caméra électronique 31 pour convertir une image de la barre de la dimension jaugée en un signal de caméra brut qui peut varier en fonction d'une ou plusieurs erreurs, un circuit électronique 35 comprend un moyen pour traiter le signal de caméra brut et produire une impulsion de dimension de la barre qui peut varier en fonction des erreurs, un calculateur 27 reçoit l'impulsion variable de dimension de la barre et un nombre correspondant de signaux de compensation d'erreur pour produire une impulsion corrigée de la dimension de la barre, le calculateur pouvant stocker l'impulsion corrigée, et un moyen 60, 63 utilise les données stockées pour indiquer ou enregistrer la dimension corrigée de la barre. L'invention s'applique notamment au contrôle des laminoirs.
