Abstract

The thermostat mounting coupling has a stepped cylindrical body with an annular rib formed on its smaller dia. end. The annular rib (19) and the shoulder (18) together form a locator for the coupling in a vehicle radiator sleeve. The smaller dia. end has a composite tapered bore which is expanded by the inner cylindrical part of a thermostat. The larger dia. end of the body forms a chamber with an annular shoulder (27) cut outs (29) being formed in this part of the body to allow insertion of the thermostat. A lip (21) forms a slating groove (22) for a gripping spring.
