Abstract

The unit controls the tension of a thread when being reeled onto a bobbin from a skein. It comprises an oscillating lever, one end being spring loaded. The other end has a double roller for the thread, this latter also passing over a roller on the machine. An auxiliary lever forms a band brake. A friction pad contacts the skein holder and its pressure is adjusted by a spring. When starting up, the oscillating lever descends and the band brake lever rests against a stop. The braking effect on the skein holder is modified and controls the centrifugal driving clutch.
