Abstract

The tray is made from wood and used for packing fruit. It is rectangular shaped and has a flat bottom (1) reinforced with a batten (5) fitted externally each end. The longer sides (2) lie along the corresponding bottom edges and the shorter sides (3) are inset a preset amount from the ends. This insetting forms four external corners, each being reinforced and fixed by vertical strips (4) fixed to both corresponding sides, the strips being on the outside leaves the useful volume unencumbered for filling. The strips are extended to project at their tops, a handling strip (7) being fitted to provide a stacking surface.
