Abstract

Compsns. for enamelling metal wires contain 30-65 wt. % polyvinylacetal resin, 25-40 blocked polyisocyanate, 0-20 phenolic resin, 0.5-30 melamine or epoxy resin, and 0.1-5 of the condensation prod. of an aromatic amine and an aldehyde. The process is effected by coating the wire with an organic soln. of the compsn., and passing it through an oven at a temp. and speed sufficient to cause crosslinking. The coatings serve to insulate the wires. The amine/aldehyde condensation prod. increases the speed of crosslinking.
