Abstract
Yarn guide device for winding yarn on to a rotating bobbin comprises a known vibration generator yarn guide (FR 2,199,743) driven by a compressed air source, and having a yarn-guiding groove of narrow width to form an undulating spiral yarn pattern, where the layers of yarn are offset from each other. The vibration generator yarn guide has an eccentric cam with a spiral ramp on its lateral periphery. The ramp is joined to the undulating yarn guiding groove on its circumference. Improvement comprises using the ramp as a transfer means from winding a stready undistributed yarn reserve tail, to moving directly into the undulating spiral of the main winding sequence. The change from steady wind to undulating spiral winding is well-defined, so the last wound part of the reserve does not become prematurely vibrated or undulated. The last part of the reserve is normally the most useful with regard to effecting the yarn joining between the bobbins. The vibrator guide is of simple construction and air driven, providing a stable speed and easy control.
