Abstract

The doll is powered by batteries and is equipped with a mechanism enabling it to walk. This is operated by raising the arm of the doll to stimulate the holding of hands between child and doll. The arm has an internal switch, in the form of a cam (26, 28) fixed to the stop holding the arm into its socket. The cam moves flexible metal strips (30) into and out of contact as the arm (20) moves up or down. The other arm of the doll can be used to operate a talking mechanism inside its body, this being energised on raising the arm.
