Abstract

L'invention concerne un procédé et un dispositif de freinage pneumatique d'un moteur à combustion interne réversible par exemple. Selon le procédé, pour un moteur comprenant un grand nombre de cylindres et au plus le même nombre de soupapes pilotées de démarrage ouvertes, par un fluide sous pression dans un ordre déterminé, fermées par l'action de ressorts de rappel, on cherche à accélérer la fermeture de chaque soupape pilotée, en fermant celle-ci avec le fluide d'ouverture du cylindre précédent au moins de deux dans l'ordre d'allumage, avec simultanément le fluide d'ouverture de ladite soupape à l'atmosphère au voisinage immédiat de celle-ci par un distributeur auxiliaire 20. L'invention s'applique notamment aux moteurs Diesel réversibles.
