Abstract

The strap is provided at the end of a ski stick and is in the form of a loop. The skier's hand passes through this to grasp the stick. The complete loop can pull out of the stick when subjected to excess or abnormal stress, preventing injury or trapping of the hand. The end of the strap (3) has a cylindrical plug (2) of resilient material located into a recess in the end (1) of the stick. The plug is held elastically, the recess curving inwards to provide some restraint and a slot (4) provides clearance for the normal downwards pull of the strap.
