Abstract

The loss of a ski after the release of a foot binding is prevented by means of a line (6) attaching the ski (2) to the skier's foot (1). It comprises a length of flexible cord (18), one end having a safety clip (8) for attachment (11) to the ski. The other end of the line is fashioned into a running loop (14), this being threaded through straps (12) around the circumference of a gaiter (5) worn around the ankle. At the rear, the gaiter is provided with a pocket (15) of elasticated material. The excess length (17) of line is tucked into this pocket, being pulled out when the ski separates.
