Abstract

The ski has a core (1) of wood or plastic and an insert of fibre-reinforced plastic whose fibres (2) are wound about the core (1) at an angle of 30 DEG to 60 DEG . The distance between the individual fibres (2) varies over the length of the ski. Advantageously, it is relatively short in the region of the transverse centre of the ski and increases symmetrically away from the transverse centre of the ski towards the two ends of the ski. The effect of this measure is that the torsional and flexural strength varies over the length of the ski, which is desirable in the case of high-performance skis for different skiing runs.
