Abstract

The machine has upper and lower horizontal tubes which carry mountings for connection to a tractor lift linkage. A frame has members which slide in the tubes so that jacks (6, 6') can vary the lateral separation of the brushes according to the distance between adjacent rows of vines. Sliders (7) on opposed frames are joined by a tube and a jack is arranged to raise and lower the sliders on the frame. An arm (11) is pivoted to the slider and carries a vine protector (12) and a brush and motor assembly (18, 19). The arm is biassed by spring (13) to bear against the vines.
