Abstract

A curved compression plate is placed near hte centre of the sector and a series of elastic heat adsorption plates are superimposed on it. A second compression plate is put on top adn held in place and soldered to the sides of the sector. The process is repeated with further heat absorption plates and compression plates to fill the sector. Assembly appts. comprises a support into which the sector fits and a curved piston placed above the support which can be lowered to compress the plates when required. Process is useful for the mfr. of rotating heat exchangers. Because the plates are elastic and held under pressure by the compression plates, movement of the plates and hence the erosion which normally occurs in exchangers of this type is avoided.
