Abstract

The demountable pin (9) and socket (3) anchorage is for use in attaching lifting gear to precast reinforced concrete units. The pin enters an embedded socket or sleeve and is locked against relative axial motion by a 90 deg. rotation. A spring (15) on the pin resists penetration and, thus holds the pieces in the locked position. The sleeve has diametrically opposed internal projections (6) and the head of the pin has corresponding recesses. The sleeve (3) has a flattened nose (5) with two circular holes which are traverse by reinforcing bars (4). The projections (6) may locate at the lower third point of the axial length, may be formed by press-cutting, and are segmented in the diametric plane.
