L'invention a pour objet de nouvelles dispersions aqueuses de copolymères solubilisables. Ces dispersions de pH compris entre 2 et 7 contiennent un copolymère dont la température de transition vitreuse est comprise entre - 60 et + 140 degrés C et la valeur K entre 20 et 130, ledit copolymère contenant sous forme interpolymérisée: a. 0,75 a 5,75 % en poids d'un ou plusieurs monomères choisis parmi l'acide acrylique, l'acide méthacrylique, l'acide crotonique, l'acide itaconique, l'anhydride maléïque et les hémi-esters de l'acide maléïque; b. 50 à 99,25 % en poids d'un ou plusieurs monomères choisis parmi les esters de l'acide acrylique ou méthacrylique. avec un alcool contenant 1 à 18 atomes de carbone et les esters vinyliques d'acides carboxyliques comportant 1 à 18 atomes de carbone ou d'acides minéraux ; c. 0 à 49,25 % en poids d'un ou plusieurs monomères monoéthyléniques autres que les esters précités, formant des homopolymères insolubles dans l'eau; et d. 0 à 5 % en poids d'un ou plusieurs monomères monoéthyléniques portant au moins un groupe polaire, les dispersions ayant un taux de matières sèches compris entre 20 et 50 %.
