Abstract

1410176 Zinc phosphate conversion coatings DULUX AUSTRALIA Ltd 21 Sept 1972 [5 Oct 1971] 43801/72 Heading C7U A ferrous or zinc surface is formed with a zinc phosphate coating using an aqueous solution comprising a zinc orthophosphate, hydrogen ions, and at least 0.1 g/l of an addition copolymer of monomer (a) and monomer (b) where (a) is selected from the group maleic acid or anhydride fumaric acid, and citraeonic acid and (b) is selected from the group consisting of ethylene, and methyl vinyl, ethyl vinyl or cyclohexy vinyl ether. The pH may be 2 to 3.5 and the solution is non-gassing and may contain sodium nitrite and hydrogen peroxide.
