Abstract

The terminal block for a flat cable, consists of a contact housing made from an insulated material with a number of contact elements made fron a conducting material. The front ends of the contact element are made with cutting edges for branching separately insulated conductors in the cable. The terminal block is divided into a row of parallel compartments corresp. to the separate conductors in the flat cable. The contact element is made from a stamping out of a conducting metal. It has a centre strip with two sides at right angles. The sides extend beyond the front end of the centre strip. The rear ends cut in to the centre strip. Theback end of the strip protrudes beyond the back ends of the side edges.
