Abstract

The pump (31) is driven by an electric motor (32) through a coupling (33). The pump and motor are mounted on a common base plate (1A) which is suspended at one end on bearings (2) supported on columns (3). The other end of the base-plate (1A) is supported on helical springs (15). When the pump is operating, the delivery pipe expands in the longitudinal direction. This expansion is accommodated by deflection of the springs. The bearings prevent the base-plate twisting due to reaction to the driving torque of the motor. Vibration dampers are also fitted between the base plate and the spring support.
