Abstract

The electric motor and reduction gearbox assembly is mounted directly on the input shaft of driven equipment. 'Floating' movement reduces misalignment errors when operating. The motor (6) drives the gearbox through a flexible coupling (12, 14, 15, 17) and both are joined together by a flat plate each side. Screws (5) are used to secure the gearbox end. The motor is fitted at the other end using bolts passing through the mounting feet (7) into brackets (8) welded on the side plates. Rubber bushes (10) are used to isolate vibrations. A support (18) from the side plates to the main frame (19) absorbs twisting and the unit is mounted using its output shaft (2).
