Abstract

A floor treatment machine comprises a motor mounted on the casing of the machine above the rotary floor-engaging element and having its driving shaft substantially vertical. The drive means between the driving shaft and the floor-engaging element comprises a drive element connected to the driving shaft, a driven element having means to engage and rotate the floor-engaging element, and a flexible connection between the drive and driven elements which includes an air cushion disposed between these two elements so as to transmit the weight of the machine from the drive element to the driven element via the air cushion. <IMAGE>
