Abstract

The equipment is anchored on the sea bed. The mooring head on the surface of the sea, is joined to the anchor point by a traction-resistant tie-bar able to take up different inclinations in different vertical planes. A system for generating a regulatable force such as a hydraulic jack, mounted on the floating body and linked to the morring lead exerts a force on the mooring head to stabilise the floating body. The equipment can be used for mooring such large bodies as barges, petrol tanks, floating workships, semi-submersible platforms, floating reservoirs, etc. The equipment has only one joint with the anchoring base and is little affected by the sea's swell, universal joints are used giving a greater flexibility to the system.
