Abstract

The roof rear cross member and rear longitudinal frame members are provided with mountings to fix hinges for either a hatch door or a luggage boot lid. The rear longitudinal frame members (7) have flat surfaces (9, 10) which face each other. The surfaces serve to support a cross member (4) which is fitted below the rear window frame. The cross member has flanges (11, 12) which can fixed by welding or bolts to the flat surfaces. The roof rear cross member has a channel containing hatch back door hinge supports.
