Abstract
L'invention concerne un dispositif de détection de caractéristiques de caractères. Une image binaire d'un caractère est formée sur une mosaïque de mémoire, et elle est analysée pour trouver des points limite. Trois repérages successifs de limites extérieures et de limites intérieures sont ensuite effectués au cours desquels l'image du caractère est amincie jusqu'à une épaisseur d'une seule cellule. Un certain nombre de caractéristiques sont alors mises en mémoire, par exemple un comptage de cellules sur la circonférence extérieure, des valeurs de pentes en différents points et des positions de noeuds. L'invention s'applique aux caractères imprimés et manuscrits.
