Abstract

A flat CRT screen has a conducting system to limit the beam and to deflect it selectively out of the conducting system. There is an earthing plane formed in front of the screen, with holes which would allow the beam to penetrate during the deflection. There is limiting device on the side which extends on each side of the path of the beam of a conductor. The electrons are limited to a relatively narrow beam in the sideways direction. The tube contains a large number of parallel support walls (24) mounted vertically between the front and back walls (18, 20). They form a number of chanels (26).
