Abstract

An electromagnetically driven switch comprises two symmetrically pivoted arms (19, 22) carried by a support (6, 50) integral with the armature and fixed to them by a spring. The spring is transverse to the movement of the support. Each arm has a movable contact at its end. The auxiliary electromagnetic appts. consists of a U-shaped magnetic circuit (33) which cooperate with a movable blade transverse to the support and having two bearings. The bearings act on the arms in a region contained between their pivotable axis (20) and a piston near the movable contact where they exert repulsive electrodynamic forces. These forces are created by the conductor to the fixed contact. The action on the arms moves the mechanism in a second stable tripping position corresp. to a third position of the contacts.
