Abstract

Tumble drying washing machine is provided with a heater which heats the surface of the drum casing and the water vapour driven out of the dried washing is condensed by water in a sump whose level does not contact the drum. Water is supplied by a line and evacuated by a water pump which is actuated when the temp. of the water in the sump has reached a temp. at which further condensation of water of evaporation is no longer possible. Water consumption and noise level associated with repeated water supply by a pump are reduced to min.
