Abstract

Parent Patents described flexible straps which could be secured at intervals across a tyre tread, the straps being anchored to loops of chain on each side of hte tyre/wheel. In this addn., a stirrup is used in conjunction with modified strap end forms to allow the straps to be secured to a loop fo cable, tape or rigid hoop instead of a chain. Specifically one end comprises a profile stepped twice on one face and having a rider moving along the other face. Only the thinnest part of the main profile will allow the profile and rider to pass simultaneously through the standard stirrup or link eye, after which the rider can block the end of the profile in the eye.
