Abstract

The skid protection system substitutes the normal snow chain and is provided with plastic flexible cross pieces to cause less noise and wear on the road surface. The cross pieces span two chains which flank the inner and outer sides of the tyre wall. The chains ends are connected to each other by hooks. The cross pieces are identical and grip the chain lengths by nipples which pass through the chain links. The plastic cross pieces are alternated by cross chains. The plastic cross pieces have a length corresponding to the tyre width and a thickness of 3-5 cm. with tongues ending in nipples to grip the chain links on each side.
