Abstract

The rectangular hollow section metal frame for a window or door has longitudinal semi-dovetail section channels (4) for the fixing of masking sections and glazing-retention bars. Two channels (4) are provided to each major face (3) of the section (1) and locate adjacent to the corners. The masking strips and glazing-retention bars may be in a combined form and comprises a slotted box-section (5) with one wall (5a) cantilevering out to form the masking strip. Two flanges, one of them tapered, cantilever out from each side of the slot to form a clip type tenon. The tenon is used to locate and fix the subsidiary section (5) on the main section.
