Abstract

The joint is for use between two profiled components, either in line with or inclined to each other, these components being clamped between gusset plates. There are one or more protrusions (7, 8) on each of the profiled sections (1, 2, 3), and mating recesses in the plates (4, 5), typically in the form of ribs and grooves respectively. Where the components are of hollow rectangular section, the ribs can run in the lengthwise direction along the edges, their height and width being the same as the depth and width of the grooves. All the parts used can be of aluminium.
