Abstract

L'invention concerne des phtalides 3,3-disubstitués, leur préparation et leur utilisation. On prépare de nouveaux composés par une combinaison de trois étapes consistant : à condenser un acide 3-N(R)2 -4-X-benzoïque acec un aldéhyde aromatique ou hétérocyclique H-CHO, dans des conditions acides pour produire un 3-Y-5-X-6-N(R) 2 -phtalide (II); à condenser ledit phtalide avec un composé de formule Z-H dans des conditions alcalines ou acides pour former un acide 2-( alpha -Y- alpha -Z) méthyl-4-X-5-n(R)2 -benzoïque de formule III et à oxyder ledit acide benzoïque pour obtenir un 3-Y-3-Z-5-X-6-N(R)2 -phtalide de formule I, où R est un atome d'hydrogène ou un groupement alkyle non tertiaire en C1 -C4 , benzyle ou benzyle substitué; X est un atome d'hydrogène ou un atome d'halogène; Y est un groupement phényle, indolyle, carbazolyle, julolidinyle, 3,4-dioxyméthylènephenyle, 2-thiényle, 2-pyrrolyle ou 4-pyridinyle éventuellement substitués; et Z est un groupement phényle, 3-indolyle ou 2-pyrrolyle éventuellement substitués. Les composés sont utilisables comme précurseurs incolores dans des systèmes de duplication sans papier carbone et dans des systèmes de marquage thermique.
