Abstract

To improve the demoulding process in the production of chipboards or chip mouldings in the press moulding of chips provided with isocyanates as binders, a release agent is used. Before the introduction or application of the chips, the press moulds of the heatable press are treated with a substance which is essentially non-volatile at the pressing temperature. At the pressing temperature, this substance leaves behind a layer which consists of discrete particles and is adhesive to the chipboards or chip mouldings. The release layers produced withstand a plurality of fillings of the press and also contribute to an improved lifetime of the sheet metal press surfaces.
