Abstract

A sorption agent for removing pollutants esp. H2S, SO2, HCN, NOx, HF, HCl, phenol and formaldehyde from gases consists of a dust, which precipitates during the mfr. of iron or steel, and which contains at least Fe2P3 and oxides of alkali metals and/or alkaline earth metals. The dust which is normally classified as waste can be used to remove pollutants from gases mainly due to its alkalinity.
