Abstract

The windscreen washer system has a storage container for the washing fluid, a feeder pipe leading to the spray nozzles and a pump in the feeder pipe. The feeder pipe (14, 16) contains a proportioning chamber (12), associated with the pump (13), to accommodate an amount of fluid sufficient for a single washing process. The proportioning chamber is located in a pipe sectionn (14) between container (10) and pump, below container base, and may be formed integrally with it. The chamber has an upper inlet aperture, and it contains a float (23), with passage. The passage is sealed by a valve when the chamber is full.
