Abstract

La présente invention concerne le domaine des matériaux de construction et, plus exactement, le procédé d'élaboration du gravillon en argile expansée utilisé pour la production du béton léger de toutes sortes. Le procédé d'élaboration du gravillon, selon l'invention, consiste en formation de la masse argileuse suivie de sa granulation, du séchage des granules à la température comprise entre 100 et 150 degrés C, du traitement thermique des granules séchés à la température comprise entre 200 et 500 degrés C de leur grillage en deux stades : à température de 800 à 1 150 degrés C pendant 0,5 à 10 mn au premier stade et à la température de 1 150 à 1 250 degrés C pendant 1 à 5 mn au deuxième stade et du refroidissement du gravillon fabriqué. Le procédé permet d'elaborer le gravillon en argile expansée léger avec une basse masse volumique du gravillon meuble comprise entre 100 et 400 kg/m**3 et avec la resistance à l'écrasement dans le vérin d'essai comprise entre 3 et 22 kgf/cm** 2, ainsi que le gravillon à haute résistance ayant la masse volumique du gravillon meuble comprise entre 550 et 1 100 kg/m**3 et la résistance à l'écrasement dans le vérin d'essai comprise entre 37 et 200 kgf/cm**2.
