Abstract
The brake pads (4,5) operate on the discs (1) through the action of the springs and may be slackened by the action of an electro-magnet (10) drawing the armature (11) operating about the pivot point (F). The tie bar (8) is integral with ratchet (9) which engages with the end of the arm (14). This arm is integral with the armature (11). The end of the arm is fixed against the finger(16). The wear is taken by the movement of the arms (6,7) kept apart by the tie bar (8).
