Abstract

Laminated panels of resin impregnated or textile have a continuous layer of metal also incorporated to reduce the flammability, esp. the fuel or calorific potential of the structure. specifically the laminates involve aminoplastic impregnated paper bonded to an aluminium layer by an intermediate adhesive layer based on phenolic resin and pref. also polyvinylbutyral. Decorative and wear-resistant layers or coatings may also be incorporated. Used for mfr. of panels which satisfied class MI of the radiant heat 'epiradiateur' test and have low calorific potentials at a thickness of about 1.5 mm, e.g. 3000 kcal/m2.
