Abstract

The machine consists of a stationary outer drum /10/ and a concentrically mounted rotating inner drum /20/ with a width /1/ equal to one of the dimensions of the cards to be destroyed. The drum /20/ is fitted with two diametral bolts /60/ radially slidable against the force of springs /64/. Between the outer surface of the drum /20/ and inner surface of drum /10/ a gap is provided to accommodate the thickness of packets of cards for destruction. At the bottom of drum /10/ a milling cutter-type shredding tool /70/ is rotating with stepped cutting edges penetrating into grooves on the rotary inner drum. The shaft of the rotary drum is fitted on both ends with cam discs /80/ which retract the bolts /60/ when they arrive in front of the cutter.
