Abstract

L'invention est relative à une machine à piston avec joint sans contact entre piston et cylindre. Selon l'invention, la paroi du cylindre, ou celle du piston, présente dans la région du joint une fente circonférentielle fermée menant à une chambre annulaire, tandis que dans la chambre annulaire est disposé un guide d'ondes circonférentiel contenant au moins une cathode et une anode, et que la paroi du guide d'ondes tournée vers l'interstice à rendre étanche est courbée de façon concave en face de la fente circonférentielle et présente des perforations. L'invention permet de réaliser dans l'interstice entre cylindre et piston un joint d'ions gazeux concentré et compact.
