Abstract

Production électrolytique d'une couche de métal. On fait passer un courant électrique à travers une solution d'ions du métal de manière que le métal soit précipité pour former une couche ayant une épaisseur d'au moins 2 mm sur une cathode placée dans la solution, la précipitation de métal sur une zone du bord de la cathode étant empêchée au moyen d'un élément protecteur électriquement isolant. L'élément protecteur protège la zone du bord d'une manière telle que la densité de courant à la frontière de cette zone du bord avec la partie active de la cathode soit sensiblement égale à la densité moyenne de courant sur la partie active entière de la cathode. La figure est une coupe transversale d'un élément protecteur en forme de cadre. Application aux dépôts de zinc.
